The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visual solutions for use in print, web, video and social media. He/she should be able to think creatively and critically about the visual communication of assigned projects using design principals, photography, illustrative, and typographic theory. The Graphic Designer creates visual artwork, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate the audience. The Graphic Designer must be capable of working within a group, as well as alone in a fast paced, high volume environment. The Graphic Designer is responsible for Art Directing artwork and creative concepts. Above all, he/she must relish in the fact that the work produced is used to promote the ministry of Jesus Christ and minister to the people of Gateway Church.
Managing and stewarding the brand of Gateway and the ministries within the organization.
Interpret ministry’s needs and think creatively to suggest ideas and concepts/designs to suit their purpose.
Design a wide range of print, web and video related visual solutions including, but not limited to:
Complete projects on time and in the most efficient manner possible while maintaining a high level of quality.
Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches and present ideas and concepts both visually and verbally to the team.
Acquire information needed for the projects in queue and keep the team up to date on project status.
Art directing and overseeing the artistic execution of design projects, photoshoots, production, etc.
Knowledgeable in writing print specs (specifically for papers, inks, folds, dies, binding, self-mailing, etc.) and knowing printing terms within the industry.
Prepare and package files for printers.
Leading and organizing creative workshops and critiques.
Uphold a high level of professionalism and represent the Design Team in creative meetings and throughout day-to-day activities.
