Job Description

The Richards Group’s design group is seeking a designer with three to eight years of brand identity experience and an emphasis on user interface/digital design. This role reports directly to the design group head and will collaborate with a growing team of designers and be instrumental in expanding our design capability.

As part of this role, you will be tasked with creating design mock-ups and prototypes for websites and other digital media. Having a clear understanding of responsive design and web accessibility standards is imperative. Day-to-day, you will work with a cross-functional team of brand managers and developers to design and implement digital content, websites, and experiences. This will include ideation, design, quality control, consultation, and collaboration with user experience experts and other facets of the agency. The role will include design for traditional media, so a portfolio showing a breadth of experience in both traditional and digital media – with strong brand identity work and typography skills – will be considered a plus.

Ideal candidates will maintain a high design standard, confident in creating conceptual and elegant design solutions across a variety of media; have a desire to stay on top of emerging technologies, best practices, and user interface trends; and have great people skills.

  • Ability to create attractive, user-friendly, and intuitive interfaces
  • Be a strong collaborator
  • Strong working knowledge of responsive design and user interface best practices
  • Ability to use appropriate prototyping tools, like InVision, for visualization of user experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite products, and UI/UX programs like Sketch and/or Adobe XD
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to create robust design systems and style guides for websites

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of fine arts in graphic design or related field
  • Online portfolio with relevant examples of branding and digital work
  • Three to eight years of relevant work experience at a design or web agency
  • Motion graphics experience (After Effects) considered a plus but not needed 
  • This role will work in a flexible location environment
