The DSVC is excited to bring the speaker series to Deep Ellum!

This fall, all of our meetings will take place at Life in Deep Ellum. Masks are recommended. We can't thank everyone enough who logged on to our virtual speaker series last year and are excited to welcome you back to in-person meetings! We will continue to have a live-stream option available to those unable to attend due to COVID concerns or anyone outside of DFW who would like to hear from our speaker lineup.

Join us from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm for coffee and networking at Life in Deep Ellum's coffee shop Mokah. At 7:00 pm, you can bring your coffee into the venue, and we will get the meeting underway. There is ample parking at Life in Deep Ellum, so no one will struggle to find a spot.

On November 3rd, we welcome creative director and documentarian Marcus McDougald.

Marcus McDougald is a multi-award-winning father, creative director, and documentarian interested in exploring rich subjects through highly dynamic mediums—searching for awe in the obvious. With a background in sports, music, and fashion, Marcus is the VP, Creative & Branded Content at the Los Angeles Football Club. His work is a mixture of photography, motion, design, and environmental design. It includes motion features like Bob Marley - LEGACY: Rhythm of the Game (Episode 4)Little Hero, and various commercials for LAFC —most recently, a fun project with Will Ferrell and Nectar Sleep, as well as being the creative director for the LAFC Performance Center.

Marcus is primarily interested in telling stories that reflect, specifically, communities of color and celebrate our many nuanced cultural achievements. At a base level, he intends that the films he directs are immersive translations concerning aspects of the human condition and, at their most transcendent, they are conduits, telescopes, microscopes, and mirrors that aid the process of others self-discovery.
