Job Description

Seed Company is seeking a talented User Interface (UI) User Experience (UX) Designer who has a passion for solving complex problems. This person should be human-centered in their approach to design and feel comfortable advocating for the end-users needs. The ideal candidate for this role should be able to generate ideas, prototypes, and concepts anchored in research insights, subject knowledge, technology requirements, and business goals that create elegant/positive user experiences and intuitive interfaces. 

This designer should have an exuberant passion for the power of strategic human-centered design and an “anything is possible” mindset. They should establish standards, guidelines, and strategies that will serve as the foundation for creating cohesive experiences. This position will contribute from end-to-end on a single product, the ideal candidate should be comfortable with research, data, strategy, and design. Furthermore, the candidate must able to employ design thinking methods to uncover insights that help inform design decisions. Equally, they must be an excellent communicator and feel comfortable presenting design decisions in front of colleagues and stakeholders. Finally, the designer should be a catalyst for creativity and have a passion for quality work.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, developers and design teams on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts.
  • Build empathy and be an advocate for our end users through participation in human-centered research and design.
  • Translate user needs, style guides, and requirements into elegant solutions for complex problems.
  • Leverage analytics tools to measure success, present opportunities, and support decision-making.
  • Conceive and design intuitive, engaging solutions to satisfy various user experiences including websites, product user interfaces, and other digital initiatives, and all points in between (i.e., wireframes, flows, mockups, visual prototypes, and high-fidelity designs). 
  • Utilize Lean and Agile methodologies.
  • Present research findings and design concepts to designers and product partners.
  • Maintain and continually refine a backlog of feature requests and defects.
  • Create and evaluate interaction models, user/task flows, screen designs, and UI/UX details to promote ease of use and optimize user experience and design.
  • Foster continuous and collaborative communication between the product owner and development teams to ensure integration of front-end design to back-end functionality.
  • Stay abreast of changing UI/UX design technologies, and corporate, organization, and industry standards to provide leading-edge interpretation and execution of design applications on all platforms.
  • Aspire to be a leader and mentor; challenge, grow and mentor peers and contribute to fostering a collaborative team spirit.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience with user experience (UX) and/or at least 5 years of experience with user interface (UI) design.
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating UI/UX design skills and breadth of work.
  • Creative inventor with the ability to articulate big and breakthrough ideas.
