Job Description

Parkland Health & Hospital System’s External Affairs division seeks an organized, proactive candidate with excellent design skills and creative expertise to help promote the visibility and positive image of Parkland, its work and mission in the community. Through application of the Parkland brand and graphic standards, the Senior Graphic Designer will provide creative design services, and conceptualize and produce publications and collateral material for both internal and external audiences.

Job Responsibilities

The designer will ensure communications pieces effectively communicate the desired messages and support overall communications strategy and goals. Assists in ensuring other departments adhere to the brand and assists with helping internal audiences understand the importance of Parkland’s brand visualization. Provides training to internal customers regarding graphic standards when needed. The designer also manages photography, including art direction and archives.

The designer will also act as liaison with related external vendors, such as printers. Will plan and schedule jobs, produce materials, coordinate with printers and vendors as needed, maintain communication with all appropriate stakeholders and ensure projects stay within budgeted amounts.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Seven years of experience developing, designing and creating graphics, editorial publications, advertising and/or marketing material.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
  • Strong photography skills a plus
  • Copy editing skills a plus
  • Prefer experience in marketing communications with strong knowledge of communications strategy
