Job Description

The Digital Media Designer will report to the Product Marketing Manager and V.P. Marketing to organize, design, and create materials for various marketing programs. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of in-house or agency experience in both design and marketing capacities, and can wear multiple hats as needed. Most projects will involve strategic design for the digital space to fulfill marketing and sales initiatives (including: Creation of digital advertising, creating and managing email marketing campaigns, creating and updating content for web-specific use). This is not a developer/programing role, but understanding and designing for current and forward-looking web technologies is required. This is an in-house position and does not fit standard agency roles and titles — this position is flexible in a fast-paced and diverse industry. The Digital Media Designer will occasionally aid supporting in other marketing fields as needed (photography, video, print design, etc.). An individual with a creative knack for problem solving through the creation of beautiful and effective digital communication materials will be successful in this role. Experience (recreational and professional) in the hunting, shooting, and outdoor industry is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

• Create, Schedule, Implement, and manage e-mail marketing campaigns • Create web-friendly content (images, text, and rich-media) based on existing printed pieces and new initiatives • Create documents, images, and graphics for product-focused webpages • Post and moderate website content • Light copy writing for digital pieces, adhering to brand standards • Assist in designing print and product support material as needed • Assist in website and digital asset maintenance (Using DAM system) • Additional duties based on creative skillsets • Minimal travel may be required

Job Qualifications

• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and InDesign in a production/design capacity • Previous experience (agency or in-house) in web and print design • HTML/CSS, additional web technologies are a plus • Photo/Video/3D editing is a plus • Solid writing, proofreading, and communication skills • Knowledge of firearms and archery equipment strongly preferred • Ability to work very quickly and collaborate with team members • WordPress and Magento CMS experience preferred • Previous experience with Constant Contact or similar e-mail marketing programs • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media or equivalent is preferred • Understanding of basic SEO strategies, and best practices for digital content design • Ability to work well in a small team environment, often working autonomously to create pieces of a larger campaign
