Job Description

The Digital Content Specialist will report to the Product Marketing Manager and V.P. Marketing to organize, design, and create materials for digital marketing programs and to maintain website content (creative and analytical). The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of in-house or agency experience in both design and marketing capacities, and can wear multiple hats as needed. The DCS will adapt catalog and print assets to for web use, and maintain website content. This is not a developer/programming role or purely a graphic design role, but understanding basic design and communication for web technologies is required. We are not an agency, and do not offer agency standard roles and titles — this position is flexible in a fast-paced industry, working in a creative small team environment. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Create, Schedule, Implement, and manage e-mail marketing campaigns.
  • Create web-friendly content (images, text, and rich-media) based on existing printed pieces and new initiatives.
  • Adapt and create documents, images, and graphics for product-focused webpages.
  • Administrative duties for associated communication materials (eBlast calendar, organizing image files, etc.)
  • Post and moderate digital content: Magento CMS, Constant Contact, occasional Social Media
  • Writing and adapting copy (from print boilerplate) for digital content.
  • Collaborate on group projects with design/marketing team.
  • Assist in designing packaging and product support material as needed.
  • Assist in website and digital asset maintenance.
  • Additional opportunities/duties based on creative skillsets.
  • Minimal travel may be required, but is not common. (This job is on-site in Richardson, TX) 

Job Qualifications

  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, in a production/design capacity.
  • Previous experience (agency or in-house) in designing graphics and communication materials for the web.
  • HTML and CSS, additional web technologies are a plus.
  • Solid writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of firearms and archery equipment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work very quickly and collaborate with team members.
  • Website CMS experience (Magento preferred).
  • Previous experience with Constant Contact or similar eBlast programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Media or equivalent is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic SEO strategies, and best practices for digital content design.
  • Ability to understand style guides, and maintain consistent branding through various programs for multiple brands. 
  • Ability to work well in a small team environment, often working autonomously to create pieces of a larger campaign
  • Work in a windows-based environment using desktop and web-based software. 
  • Motivated in accomplishing objective oriented tasks without full oversight.
