Job Description

This position is a team member of D.S. Creative, an in-house creative agency for UNT Dining Services, where It’s About the Food! The agency provides communications and branding for the university’s dining halls, retail units, upscale restaurant, commissary bakery and full-service catering operation. This position is responsible for our website and also produces solutions to print and digital marketing projects while also guiding student creative work.

This position typically works Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Some evenings and weekends may be required.
This position does not work remotely.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the department’s website presence. Oversees the website’s strategic direction, production schedule, content, training, performance and technical function, security and accessibility. Ensures website is relevant, fresh and always improving.
  • Produces a variety of print and digital creative projects using industry-standard tools.
  • Serves as a professional role model and guide to student employees on their work projects.
  • Comes to work regularly, maintains assigned work schedule. Follows procedures requesting leave and reporting absences, and provides necessary documentation/releases to work if necessary.
  • Uses positive techniques to motivate employees. Sets and achieves high standards with the team. Properly delegates tasks and projects. Provides appropriate feedback to subordinates.
  • Understands job procedures, policies and responsibilities; keeps up-to-date technically; acts as a resources person on whom others rely for assistance. Accepts accountability for actions.
  • Identifies problems and analyzes causes; takes or recommends actions after evaluating alternative solutions; follow-up to ensure problems are corrected. Generates alternative solutions when solving problems.
  • Develops strategies and work plans for accomplishing goals; organizing tasks in a logical sequence and identifying resources required. Capable of managing several assignments at the same time. Seeks new tools, job training, and learning opportunities.
  • Writes reports, letters, etc. using appropriate style, format, spelling and grammar, writes in a clear, concise manner. Clear when communicating ideas orally. Exhibits listening skills and ensures the message is understood. Receptive to feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Puts the department’s success ahead of personal goals; shares information and resources with others; gives timely responses to requests made by others; promotes teamwork.

Job Qualifications


  • Associate’s Degree in related field and one year work experience in print, video, and/or electronic media production, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • This position requires a valid U.S. drivers license and ability to operate university vehicles.
  • This is a security sensitive position.



  • Understanding of the principles, equipment, software, and practices of the field of media design and production.
  • Manual dexterity and physical ability to operate various items of media equipment.



  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience designing, implementing and managing websites with WordPress.
  • Ability to manage front-end and back-end website development.
