Job Description

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is seeking a collaborative and motivated individual to join our Marketing team as Marketing Copywriter & Project Coordinator. This position plays a central role in developing compelling copy for marketing communications across various channels and in facilitating the successful execution of our marketing projects and campaigns. The Marketing Copywriter & Project Coordinator will report to the Creative Director and will work closely with various team members to initiate and coordinate projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across different channels and stakeholders.


Job Responsibilities

A key responsibility of the Marketing Copywriter & Project Coordinator will be developing, editing, and proofreading copy across marketing campaigns and channels. This includes digital and printed advertising, direct mail, and various collateral and signage. This position will frequently collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager on developing email and website copy.

The Marketing Copywriter & Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with key leadership, both internally and with external agency partners and vendors, to ensure that creative projects are launched effectively and that all parties have a clear understanding of the project's objectives, timelines, and deliverables. This role will assist in creating project kick-off briefs which will serve as a roadmap for the successful initiation of projects. Another responsibility will be to take ideas generated by team members and translate them into clear and concise project notes. This role will work closely with others to gather all necessary information, ensuring that project requirements are understood and effectively communicated.


Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong copywriting skills and a creative mindset. They will have strong project coordination and communication skills, with a keen ability to gather and distill information into actionable project notes. The ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of the DSO’s Marketing team.

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in project coordination and marketing support roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill ideas and information into clear and concise notes.
  • Strong copywriting skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive content.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with project management tools like Monday.com.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fun and fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for the arts and music is highly desirable.
  • The ability to work occasional concert duty as assigned on nights and weekends is required.
