Utilize the Bishop Lynch brand and “design brief” to promote consistency in all print and web-based materials.
Develop the layout and production design specification for all institutional publications including: Reflections magazine, annual reports, pamphlets, brochures, invitations, flyers, certificates, forms, posters and other publications.
Consistently update design and graphics on campus displays.
Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts.
Employ color, typography, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques when designing each project.
Design logos and graphics for events, program-specific identity for various systems and website.
Develop and implement the school’s social media strategy, including marketing plans that leverage social media outlets accordingly
Help manage content/social media calendar including content development and posting
Work with digital communications designers in developing broad collection of video content to support brand and program visibility.
Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
Complete projects by coordinating with respective internal departments and follow-through with art services, printers, etc.
Assist with event photography and photo processing.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies; researching other school and trends.
Rapidly acclimate to BLHS; thoroughly know the history, culture, traditions and constituencies of the school; understand the educational philosophy; know all marketing and communications activities of the department.
Develop marketing and communications strategies and plans that advance BLHS and drive increased engagement with prospective, current and alum constituencies.
Collaborate with administrative departments in articulating their purpose and ongoing work/events. Includes but not limited to President and Principal, Advancement, Admissions, Athletics, Clubs/Organizations
Design marketing strategies and implement concrete plans to capitalize on increased visibility and clear branding of the school to drive increased contributed revenue
Develop and complete regular analytics, ROI and analysis for both internal and external, print and digital media
Create timely and engaging content optimized for platform used and intended audience
Strong understanding of user-generated content management, content marketing and reputation management
Exceptional time management skills including the ability to handle multiple departments, audiences and deadlines with changing priorities
Attend and lead key meetings to communicate creative vision, processes and strategies
Display thought leadership in areas of design trends, branding, social media, typography, layout, platform nuances, latest trends, color theory, printing methods and conversion
Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, arts or related field preferred.
2+ years’ relevant experience.
Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.
Current with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.).
Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines.
Confidence to present and explain ideas on collaborative projects.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience related to computer systems and technologies
Mastery of current Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Comprehensive knowledge with marketing and branding strategies used in print and web media
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the printing process
Solid, creative photography skills, including the ability to operate advanced digital equipment
