Job Description

The Graphic Designer and Production Artist will support the Communications Director in fulfilling the parish’s commitments and calling to tell a brand story, through creative, accurate, and thoughtful content and design across platforms to drive parishioner and prospect engagement.

The ideal candidate will manage creative projects and take on designs during the early and sometime final stages of development to ensure accuracy and prepare them for social media, digital, and print publication. To be successful in this position, the designer should combine strong creative and technical skills and always meet deadlines.

The designer should have an eye for detail and extensive project management experience. Ultimately, the designer will ensure print and digital designs meet existing brand standards. The designer must be willing to take creative direction and understand that the communications team is a service arm of the company with both internal and external customers to satisfy.


Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, produce, and/or consult on a variety of internal and external communications, including photo, video, print, email marketing, web, indoor/outdoor and digital signage, including pre-press set-up and offset printing functions
  • Oversee production of all printed materials, including management of consumable supplies and production suite equipment
  • Interact with service reps and print vendors for any repairs, orders, and fulfillment requests
  • Manage and replenish all displayed collateral around the church (posters, flyers, and the like)
  • Maintain consistent editorial and communications standards, branding, and guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Understand the urgent need for quality work while maintaining firm internal and printer deadlines
  • Adhere to all internal communication branding guidelines  
  • Extensive knowledge and use of Adobe Creative Suite: particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to deal with conflicting priorities
