Job Description

American Leather is seeking a dynamic and creative Content Lead to join our marketing team. This individual will aid in the creative thinking of, and drive the execution of our content marketing efforts, ensuring that our brand’s messaging is consistent, persuasive, and impactful in the B2B furniture market. 
The Content Lead will work under the Creative Director to develop content that enhances brand positioning, generates cult-followings, and drives customer engagement. This role will focus on developing premium content across multiple channels, targeting key customers and segments, and creatively tells the brand story in socially relevant ways. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong point of view in managing creative marketing projects, with an emphasis on content ideation, timeline-based thinking, and high-quality standards in both taste and execution across all deliverables. 

Additional skills such as light photography/videography, photo/video editing, copywriting, design, or other creative crafts are not required, but would make a candidate stand out for this opportunity. 


Job Responsibilities

·       Develop and execute the content strategy, ensuring the brand’s positioning, messaging, and value proposition are conveyed in interesting, socially relevant ways.

·       Create (or guide creation of) high-quality content for a variety of channels, including the company’s website, email campaigns, social media, and collateral.

·       Deeply understand the company’s product, brand, and customer needs, and create unexpected approaches to surprise and delight audiences.

·       Monitor and analyze the performance of content initiatives, adjusting strategies based on results.

·       Be the first line of response on social channels, staying attuned to the responses of the brand’s community.

·       Stay up-to-date on content trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and tactics into the strategy.

·       Stay up-to-date on interior design and furniture trends, and elevating personal understanding of the market, and high-design.

·       Keep a close eye and ear on the social media landscape in the industry, noting interesting people and brands that could intersect with the company in exciting ways.


Job Qualifications

·       Ideal candidates would have at least 1-2 years of experience in content creation, marketing, or communications. (Do not let a lack of prior experience stop you from applying)

·       A strong aesthetic point-of-view, with examples (can be past work or inspiration boards)

·       The ability to think/create content in another person’s POV, ensuring the ability to create consistency within a brand voice that might differ from their personal view.

·       A personal process to develop and execute content strategies across various channels (website, email, social media, etc.).

·       An ability to creatively capitalize on personal skills to create dynamic content. (I.E. utilize a personal passion for writing to create captivating words for email)

·       Strong understanding of storytelling, and the ability to create unexpected narratives.

·       Knowledge, or strong desire to learn the interior design sector, including furniture manufacturing and design.

·       Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including creative, product, and sales departments.

·       A fiery determination to make an impact through memorable work.

·       Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

·       Proficiency with content management systems for social media, and Adobe Creative suite is a plus.

·       Candidates with additional skills such as photography, videography, content editing, copywriting, graphic design, or styling will be prioritized. 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

·       Strong portfolio of written content and/or creative assets— supplementing with inspiration to showcase personal POV is acceptable.

·       Familiarity with content management systems, marketing automation tools, and content editing programs is desirable.

·       Excellent organizational, story-telling, and collaboration skills, with knowledge, or the desire to learn the category.
